A Florida-based woman has gone viral after her friend ordered a parmesan-crusted water at Longhorn Steakhouse. However, one thing they didn’t expect was for the restaurant to call their bluff.
From accusing a server of scamming customers to a patron reportedly finding glass in her drink, Longhorn Steakhouse has certainly been causing a stir on social media. But this new trend involving the company’s infamous Parmesan crust might be the most bonkers yet.
The viral clip, which has garnered 1.1 million views and was posted by TikToker @champagnemamii010, shows the Parmesan water in all its glory, with thick, gloopy, and yet crunchy breaded cheese coating the top of the cup of misty-looking water.
It is accompanied by on-screen text that reads: “The concept of my homegirl actually ordering a Parmesan encrusted water.”
In the video description, @champagnemamii010 added, “TS looked like a science experiment gone terribly wrong, I can’t believe they ACTUALLY let her get it.”
The TikToker also made an important clarification in the comments: “She didn’t drink it y’all she just wanted to see if they’d actually do it.”
The TikTok user didn’t immediately respond to BroBible’s request for comment via TikTok direct message.
How Did Commenters React To This?
For many commenters, the idea of Parmesan-crusted water was a terrifying concept. “Bro if it was a dirty Martini that might actually be slightly drinkable,” one wrote. “But this is diabolical.”
“There’s no way this is actually real,” a second insisted. “I can’t f—— do this,” a third chimed in. Meanwhile, a fourth complained, “This country is not well….”
A fifth blamed Longhorn for the monstrosity, remarking that “the concept of them actually giving it to her is even more insane.”
Parmesan Water: Longhorn Steakhouse’s Greatest Delicacy
The ordering of Parmesan-encrusted water from Longhorn Steakhouse has become something of a social media trend.
Prices might vary based on location, but broadly, adding a Parmesan crust to your dish should cost around $1.49-$2.95. The Takeout reports that this lauded crust is made of ranch, herbs, garlic, and, obviously a lot of Parmesan cheese. In addition to this, the outlet tested it out and found that you could add Parmesan crust to pretty much any dish on the menu—but the writer drew the line at drinks and desserts.
However, recently, netizens have boldly gone where no one has gone before by ordering Parmesan-encrusted waters, just like this TikToker has. This has led to the concoction going viral across platforms like TikTok, Reddit, and Facebook.
Over on Reddit, for instance, a user shared a snap of their drink on the r/StupidFoods subreddit. In the comment thread associated with this post, the Redditor also revealed that they actually drunk the drink. “I can attest it did not taste good,” the user admitted, before later adding, “I couldn’t just have it sit there on the table and not say I tried it.”
