Given that becoming a movie star is usually a decades-long process, it should come as no surprise that many of them have become friends over the years. A recent example is Andrew Garfield, Jamie Doran, Charlie Cox, and Eddie Redmayne sharing an NYC apartment in the mid-2000s.

What is pleasantly surprising, however, are the *random* friendships that form, such as Academy Award winner Olivia Colman and America’s Dad heir apparent Paul Rudd.

In fact, not only are the pair friends, and not only do they have a 20-year-long friendship, but they’re apparently close enough that Colman decided to prank call Rudd while he was appearing on BBC Radio.

Rudd, of course, can most recently be seen starring in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantamania, which hit theaters in the United States today. Alongside Rudd, the film stars Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror, the film stars Evangeline Lilly, Michelle Pfeiffer, Michael Douglas, Kathryn Newton, David Dastmalchian, William Jackson Harper, Katy O’Brian, and Bill Murray.

The film has received mixed reviews from both fans and critics so far, as it currently has just a 49% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes, which rivals the 47% of 2021’s Eternals as the lowest in the history of the franchise.

Colman, coincidentally, will also make her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut this year when she stars in the upcoming Disney+ series Secret Invasion alongside Ben Mendelsohn, Cobie Smulders, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Emilia Clarke, Olivia Colman, Martin Freeman, and Don Cheadle.

According to recent reports, Secret Invasion and season two of Loki are the only MCU shows guaranteed to hit Disney+ this year as the media powerhouse is making an effort to be “better at curating franchise content that’s extraordinarily expensive,” said CEO Bob Iger.
