We have less than three weeks remaining in 2018 and I have to lose 15 pounds, read five books, and save $5,000 more to achieve my New Years Resolutions I made on January 1. Less than zero chance.

The continued surge of social media in 2018 has pulled the curtains back on peoples’ streams of consciousness, allowing the public to bear witness to thoughts that should have never materialized beyond random synapses. But thanks heavens they did, because otherwise the rest of us would be robbed of the opportunity to point and laugh at all the batshit crazy things people deem shareable.

Over the weekend, Twitter user @RICOriq urged his followers to post the wildest tweets they’ve seen in 2018. Thousands of people posted screenshots of the insane, the insanely stupid, and the insanely funny. I laughed and cried and feared for future generations.

I’ve posted some of the best responses below. Enjoy.

Matt’s love of writing was born during a sixth grade assembly when it was announced that his essay titled “Why Drugs Are Bad” had taken first prize in D.A.R.E.’s grade-wide contest. The anti-drug people gave him a $50 savings bond for his brave contribution to crime-fighting, and upon the bond’s maturity 10 years later, he used it to buy his very first bag of marijuana.
