When it comes to treating your furry friends, there’s nothing better than a trip to Petco. For one TikToker, it looked like life was especially on her side after she snagged some serious bargains courtesy of the store’s “Mystery Bags.”
Some might say that dogs are overrated—but really, everyone needs a dog. More importantly, everyone needs to give gifts to their dogs every now and again.
In the viral video, which has garnered 767,600 views, TikToker MasterOfVices (@masterofvices) filmed a table inside her local Petco, which was filled with bags with labels like “Human Mystery Bag,” “Dog Mystery Bag,” and “Mystery Cat Bag.” These bags were either “under $10” or “under $20.”
“I come into Petco, and they hit me with this,” she said, filming the table. “Like, of course I’m gonna buy several mystery bags—it’s a mystery, of course.”
BroBible reached out to the TikToker and representatives of Petco via Instagram direct message and email, respectively.
What Did Commenters Say?
Some commenters were excited. “Running to Petco, my fat cats might need one of those mysteries, who knows?” one wrote.
“Do a haul RIGHT NEOWWWW,” a second demanded.
While a third asked, “Does every Petco have this? This would be so goated for my cat she loves paper bags.”
Other commenters were more cynical.
“Its all the stuff they found under the metal shelves thats been zeroed out,” a fourth suggested.
Meanwhile, a fifth revealed, “As a previous Petco employee, I promise it’s just the clearance s— that no one was buying.”
The official Petco TikTok account even commented, writing, “That ‘of course’ felt very personal.”
What’s Inside The Bags?
In her follow-up video, she shared that she had two Dog Mystery Bags: one “under $10” bag and one “under $20” bag. The first bag contained a giant, soft pickle toy wearing a charming “pickleball” uniform.
The second bag had multiple items inside a black trash bag. As well as having another giant pickle soft toy, the bag also contained a giant Lamb Chop toy and some expensive-looking supplements to help dogs with their urinary tract.
“I don’t know how God knew, but I needed this because my dog China is not peeing. She hasn’t peed all day. Like she’s stopped peeing. So I’m gonna take her to the vet tomorrow, but I’m sure these will come in handy.”
The TikTok ended with one of her dogs playing with the Lamb Chop, and then another dog sandwiched between the two pickle toys as “Careless Whisper” played.
In a third TikTok, the user shared a clip of her dogs still playing with one of the pickle toys.
How Much Are The Items Worth?
On the Petco website, the YOULY Pickleball Pickle Jumbo Plush Dog Toy is currently selling for $7.50 as part of an online-only clearance sale. However, the regular price as listed on the site is $15. Given that this first bag was an “Under $10 Mystery Bag,” this means that the TikToker has saved over $5.
Along with the YOULY Pickleball Pickle Jumbo Plush Dog Toy, which has an original price of $15, the Under $20 Mystery Bag also included a Jumbo Lamb Chop Holding a Carrot Toy. On the website, this is listed as $16.
Meanwhile, the final item in the bag was the Super Snouts Urinary Berry Supplements. They’re listed on the website as $19.99.
This makes the total value of the items in the second mystery bag $50.99. In turn, the total savings from the second bag is over $30.99.
In total, the value of the products the TikToker bought was $65.99. Given she paid less than $30 in total, her total savings come to $35.99. So, needless to say, if you live near a Petco, you probably want to run, not walk, to take advantage of this deal.
