Every once in a while, a fast food restaurant unleashes a new menu item on an unsuspecting world that shakes the earth to its very core, like McDonald’s did when it introduced the McGriddle and KFC did with the Double Down.
Over the summer, Popeyes came off the top rope and delivered a diving elbow to Chick-fil-A when it announced it would start selling a suspiciously familiar chicken sandwich that quickly took the world by storm.
People across the nation clamored to get their hands on the uber-hyped product and it was only a matter of time until Popeyes saw its entire supply exhausted—much to the chagrin of the guy who sued the restaurant because they sold out and the person who pulled out a gun after hearing the bad news (as if that would make a sandwich magically appear).
Popeyes did what it could to make up for the shortage to no real avail, but last week, we were treated to a glimmer of hope when rumors began to swirl concerning the allegedly imminent return of the now-fabled item.
Now, I’m happy to share some very exciting news: the Popeyes chicken sandwich is officially coming back, baby!
On Monday, the chain tweeted out a succinct press release in which it announced the people will be getting what they want this Sunday.

Popeyes also took the time to put together a video to fire a shot at Chick-fil-A for taking the day off.

November 3rd cannot come soon enough.
