Indie Rock band Foster The People dropped their life-changing banger ‘Pumped Up Kicks’ which made it to #3 on the US Billboard Hot 100, #1 on US Billboard Alternative Songs, and killed it on the charts across the world. It’s a Pop Music-style song from an Indie Rock band that works because it has that Indie twang and doesn’t go full Pop, you can still sense that there’s real music at play.
In this video below, Pomplamoose, the multi-instrumental music duo of Jack Conte and Nataly Dawn, enlist the help of some friends to bust out this spectacular ‘Pumped Up Kicks’ x Radiohead mashup that shouldn’t work but somehow comes off pretty darn close to perfect:
I see something like this and wonder how it is that I’m such a fucking dud when it comes to musical talent. Sure, I can play you 5 Gold Stars on Guitar Hero but when it comes to picking up a real guitar I’m useless. Or when it comes to singing I’ll clear the room with my absolutely atrocious vocals. I’m always in awe of people who can slip into any musical ensembled and crush it.
