Monday brought some terrifying storms to Texas and Oklahoma. I have yet to see a reported number of tornadoes that actually touched down but there was a span of several hours in the evening on Monday where the tornado alarms were going off across a span of hundreds of miles.

There are all sorts of videos online featuring the twisters touching down and devastating areas. I’ll include a bunch of these below at the end of the article. But one video has captured the Internet’s attention and gone viral to the point that it’s getting the full-blown meme treatment on Twitter.

In fact, Chevrolet’s ‘Like A Rock’ slogan taken from the Bob Seger song has never been more on display than in this video. The truck was caught in the crosshairs of a devastating tornado that passed across the road, flipped the truck, spun it around, destroyed power lines and caused explosions, then flipped the truck back upright. To see the truck drive away from this is truly surreal.

And here’s that same video with Bob Seger’s ‘Like A Rock’ added to it.

Someone at Chevrolet needs to be tracking down the person who filmed this video and make it their next commercial ASAP. If I was in the market for a new truck, I might genuinely be swayed by this footage and consider a Chevy over a Ford even though I’m an F-150 guy at heart.

Truck Footage Gets The Meme Treatment

This mashup of the red truck footage with the movie Twister is epic! Fun fact: most of the highway signs in that movie are in Texas even though the film was set in Oklahoma…

If this is a legit story then god bless this man for saving that (kid) driver’s hide. His parents were about to be PISSED!

Some other footage of tornadoes that touched down and left devastation on Monday…

It is officially Tornado Season in Texas. There are actually two seasons for tornadoes in Texas, early Spring and early Fall, but the Lone Star State has just entered the first one of the year. I say that to illustrate that storms like this aren’t unexpected in the weeks ahead and it’s important to be prepared ahead of time with an emergency plan in place.
