Former NFL head coach Rex Ryan is a big fan of Ella Langley
Former New York Jets and Buffalo Bills head coach Rex Ryan has never been shy about sharing his opinion. Now that he’s no longer on the sidelines, he’s got more time to share his thoughts on things like country music instead of football.
The former Jets and Bills head coach — who has spent recent years working as an NFL analyst for ESPN on Get Up! and Sunday NFL Countdown — posted a glowing review of Ella Langley’s concert in Baltimore this weekend, declaring himself an official “Ella Fella” and posing in an Ella’s Fellas t-shirt.

“Look, I’ve been around football my whole life. I’ve coached in Baltimore, won a lot of games, and seen some incredible performances But let me tell you something…Ella Langley had Baltimore in the palm of her hand tonight. As the kids say, I’m officially an Ella Fella. I don’t make the rules,” Ryan tweeted on Saturday night.
Given Ryan’s history, many NFL fans in the replies were making jokes about his well-documented appreciation for feet and Langley’s cowboy boots potentially obstructing that fixation.

Langley has been one of the breakout country stars of the summer — she had a viral moment during the World Cup when German fan @FreddyLA7 documented her gifting him and his travel companions new suitcases during their tour of the American South, and Norwegian soccer star Erling Haaland also went home as a fan of Langley’s.
Ryan has been with ESPN since 2016 but has attempted to break back into coaching in recent years, as he interviewed for the Dallas Cowboys vacant defensive coordinator position in 2025 and the New York Jets’ head coach opening in 2025.
