Rick and Morty fans have much to be excited about today as the hit Adult Swim TV show has officially started production. But there’s even more outstanding news because the hit Adult Swim TV show’s creator promised that there won’t be tortuously protracted waits between seasons anymore.
“We want the episodes to stay good, but we do also want to try to turn them around a little quicker now that we have this big order, I think it gives us the ability to be faster,” Rick and Morty co-creator Justin Roiland told Polygon. “We’re not going to do these long breaks, these chasms in between seasons anymore. We’re going to schedule vacation time and just keep the machine going. It’s going to be really cool.”
This is music to the ears of Rick and Morty fans everywhere because the breaks between past seasons were agonizing. In May, Roiland and fellow co-creator Dan Harmon reached a deal with Adult Swim on a massive order of 70 episodes of the intergalactic traveling duo. However, one must wonder if Harmon and Roiland might get burnt out or if the show will drop in quality without these long breaks.
For right now, Roiland is super amped to get started on new episodes and the creativity is flowing. “It’s exciting, it’s a little surreal. Even just being in the writer’s room for half the day every day this week, the ideas are … it’s going to be great.” There has been no release date for season 4 of Rick and Morty yet, but expect it sometime in 2019. Now we wait.
