Despite being known across the globe for her decade-long dominance of pop music, Rihanna has been anything but a pop star in recent years, instead focusing on her beauty business and acting career.

In addition to launching her wildly successfully SAVAGE x FENTY line, Rihanna has also further established herself as an actress, appearing in four films over the course of the last few years.

And according to recent rumors, Rihanna’s burgeoning film career may take another leap forward, as she’s reportedly being considered for the role of Poison Ivy in 2021’s The Batman.

When Rihanna was asked about the rumors on the red carpet of her 5th Annual Diamond Ball, she said that she’d “loved” to take a stab at the iconic Gotham City super villain:

When asked about the “hinting,” [at the role of Poison Ivy on Instagram] Rihanna responded, “Wait, did I hint anything? Oh that?! Really? That!? Are you serious? No, that has nothing to do with Poison Ivy… That [post] has to do a lot with Batman [because] I have separate obsessions. I have bigger obsession with Poison Ivy, I’m just being honest. And yeah, I died my hair red because of Uma Thurman in the original.”

“You know what, they didn’t call me yet. But if they did, I would love to go in and try out because Poison Ivy is one of my obsessions in life,” she shared. “I did it for Halloween one year, I mean come on!” [ET Online]

Given that Poison Ivy’s primary weapon, and defining characteristic, is her exotic seductiveness, Rihanna is quite possibly the perfect choice for the role, because if anyone on Earth has mastered being exotically seductive, it’s definitely Rihanna.

The Batman will be released in theaters in the United States on Friday, June 25, 2021.
