It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia star Rob McElhenney — now technically “Rob Mac” as he legally changed his name — had his phone hijacked by his 14-year-old son Leo, who then engaged in an impromptu AMA session with Mac’s followers.

With the pair seemingly on a road trip, an apparently bored Leo McElhenney decided to commandeer his father’s phone and have some fun with his Instagram account by answering questions asked by fans of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Leo said he told his Dad that he was making a playlist for the drive but was instead fooling around on his Instagram.

Rob McElhenney’s teenage son Leo hijacked his phone and began responding to Always Sunny fans’ question and comments on Instagram

When a fan asked if Mac is gay — a long-running joke on It’s Always Sunny — Leo replied: “i guess bro.” When asked about his favorite episode, he cited “the Mac and Dennis hot chills ER episode.” He also hinted that the new 18th season of Always Sunny might be premiering in August, then added that his dad gets excited talking about the show “as if he thinks I care.”

Eventually Rob Mac seemed to catch on, as Leo brought the fun to a close with the message “he asked why I’m on his phone, running out of time,” before the account returned to normal.

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, which first premiered over 20 years ago in 2005, has become the longest-running American live-action sitcom in terms of total seasons, surpassing The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet‘s 14 seasons with the release of its 15th season in December 2021. In December 2020, the series was renewed for four additional seasons, bringing it to a total of 18 seasons, with the 18th set to premiere later this year.
