Actors Robert Iler and Jamie-Lynn Sigler played A.J. and Meadow Soprano on HBO’s The Sopranos and they’ve reconnected later in life to launch the Not Today, Pal podcast which is low key emerging as one of the best celebrity podcasts to ever exist.

There are sixteen episodes out now and the format is simple. The two childhood actors from The Sopranos share stories about their lives now and then. One of those stories recently went super viral on TikTok where Robert Iler who played A.J. Soprano discussed getting Jennifer Love-Hewitt’s phone number, who was his celebrity crush when he was younger:

More recently, Robert Iler shared a story of meeting a couple of wise guys outside of a restaurant. He said these guys were straight out of The Sopranos. And 24 years after the show began, this was the first time a fan ever did this to him?

By far my favorite part about this story is how perfectly everyone can envision what these guys looked like without Robert really describing them at all. He said they were holding cigars and ‘straight out of The Sopranos‘ but didn’t provide any physical detail beyond that. Yet we’re all sitting here fully aware the crew looked exactly like Tony Soprano, Paulie Walnuts, and Bobby Bacala.

There are countless clips up on the TikTok channel for the Not Today, Pal podcast. Full videos of each episode also get posted to the YMH Studios YouTube channel. A great place to start watching might be the ‘Blind Pizza Taste Test’ episode:

Given how common it is for child actors to grow up completely off the rails thanks to Hollywood, there’s something reassuring about seeing these two together appearing to be pretty even-keeled.
