Robert Pattinson’s daughter is living through an experience only a few kids on Earth have ever had: her Dad is playing Batman. Or, as the two-year-old apparently calls him, “Daddy Batman.”

After years of waiting and multiple delays — the most recent of which shifted the film’s release date from October 2027 to February 2028 — The Batman: Part II is finally in production. But while playing The Dark Knight may be a part-time job for Robert Pattinson, being a Dad remains a full-time gig.

Robert Pattinson’s daughter has been calling him ‘Daddy Batman’ after FaceTime calls showing him covered in blood and black makeup during filming

During a recent interview with And The Writer Is…, Suki Waterhouse — Pattinson’s actress, singer, and model wife — detailed their daughter FaceTiming Pattinson while he was covered in blood and black makeup on the set of The Batman: Part II, and the nickname she’s taken to calling him since.

“She’s on FaceTime to her Dad, who today is covered in blood with huge black circles around his eyes. She calls him ‘Daddy Batman’ now, because he’s always dressed up like that, for the next seven months,” Waterhouse explained.

Waterhouse and Pattinson, who got engaged in 2023 and welcomed their daughter in March 2024, have been dating since 2018.

Pattinson is perhaps in the midst of a career-defining run, as 2026 sees him star in The Drama, The Odyssey, Primetime, Here Comes the Flood, and Dune: Part Three. Waterhouse, meanwhile, released her third studio album Loveland on July 10. Needless to say, the pair’s daughter has inherited quite a set of genes.

In addition to Pattinson as the Caped Crusader, The Batman: Part II — now hitting theaters on February 18, 2028 — also stars Jeffrey Wright, Andy Serkis, Colin Farrell, Sebastian Stan, Scarlett Johansson, and Charles Dance.

Alongside the announcement of the delay, director Matt Reeves made an effort to appease fans by unveiling the logo and first test footage for the film, which featured Pattinson’s Batman lurking menacingly in the snow.
