After she was spotted with Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, and director Shawn Levy at the New York Jets vs. Kansas City Chiefs game earlier this season, movie fans began to speculate that it was because Taylor Swift has a role in Deadpool 3.

While nothing has been confirmed, there have long been rumors that Swift could make a cameo appearance in the film as a Marvel character known as the Dazzler.

During a recent interview, Deadpool franchise star Ryan Reynolds was asked about those rumors and predictably played it coy.

“I love it, I think it is a sign of how eager people are to get a peek behind the curtain in this world,” Reynolds said in a recent interview with The Vancouver Sun. “Every single one of these secrets and spoilers will be revealed on July 26.”

Even if Swift is absolutely not in Deadpool 3, it’s certainly no surprise that Reynolds is playing with the speculation that she is given her fame and ability to generate headlines.

Now that Deadpool 3 has resumed filming following the conclusion of the actors’ strike, the film is scheduled to hit theaters in the United States on Friday, July 26, 2024.

When our Post Credit Podcast spoke to director Shawn Levy earlier this month, Reynolds’ frequent collaborator said that the events of 2017’s Logan will be canon to the film, which will feature Hugh Jackman playing Wolverine for the first time since then.

“I have always said that I can’t wait for Deadpool 3 to come out because all I want to do is give interviews alongside Ryan where we talk about our reverence for the movie Logan,” Levy explained.

Logan is canon. We love Logan. That happened. I want the world to know, as the producer and director, all of us share a deep love and respect for Logan, every aspect of how it’s crafted, and all the events that take place.”

In addition to Reynolds and Jackman, Deadpool 3 — which is the only Marvel Cinematic Universe film set to release in 2024 — will also star Owen Wilson, Emma Corrin, Matthew Macfadyen, Morena Baccarin, Brianna Hildebrand, Jennifer Garner, Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni, Stefan Kapičić, Rob Delaney, and more.
