Avengers: Infinity War had a historic opening weekend and earned a record $630 million worldwide with an estimated $250 in the U.S. and Canada making it the biggest opening weekend of all-time. This is remarkable figure when you realize that Avengers: Infinity War hasn’t even been released in China yet (May 11th), which is the second largest box office nation. No wonder Ryan Reynolds wanted to be a part of the Avengers.

Reynolds’ character Deadpool applied to be a member of the Avengers, but sadly he was rejected. Reynolds congratulated the Avengers on their monumental success by sharing a rejection letter. Deadpool received a brutal rejection letter from Tony Stark, which is dated April 14, 2012, right before the release of the first Avengers movie. “From a guy who never knows when to quit, I’m glad you guys never did. Congrats #Avengers,” Reynolds wrote on Sunday.

Deadpool received some harsh words from Iron Man, “Go bother Professor X.” Let’s hope Professor X isn’t as cruel. The Merc with a Mouth will get his chance at box office glory when Deadpool 2 is released on May 18.
