Over the last few weeks, photos from the set of Deadpool 3 have been leaked, spoiling some of the surprises that the film is set to have.

In response to the leaks, Deadpool franchise star Ryan Reynolds took to social media, as he so often does, to share a heartfelt statement about the situation.

“Surprises are part of the magic of theatrical movies. It’s important for us to shoot the new DEADPOOL film in real, natural environments, using practical effects as opposed to making the movie indoors and digitally. Telephoto lenses continue to spoil surprises and create a difficult situation for everyone,” Reynolds’ statement on Instagram says.

“Here’s hoping some of the websites and social channels hold back showing images before they’re ready. The film is built for audience joy — and our highest hope is to preserve as much of that magic as possible for the finished film and the big screen. Part of the reason people post spoilers is because they’re excited. I realize these aren’t real world issues and it’s firmly in the ‘good problems’ bucket. I love making this movie” he concluded..

Clearly not satisfied with just releasing a statement, Reynolds also personally released some set photos in order to beat leakers to the punch.

In addition to Ryan Reynolds as the infamous Merc with the Mouth and Hugh Jackman returning as Wolverine for the first time since Logan, Deadpool 3 will also star Owen Wilson, Emma Corrin, Matthew Macfadyen, Morena Baccarin, Brianna Hildebrand, Jennifer Garner, Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni, Stefan Kapičić, Rob Delaney, and more.

Deadpool 3, the only Marvel film that will be released next year, is set to hit theaters on Friday, July 24, 2024. The film, directed by frequent Reynolds collaborator Shawn Levy, will be the first R-rated movie produced by Marvel Studios.
