Having a Bad Day? You Could Always Be This Saudi Arabian Singer Who Was Arrested For Dabbing At Concert

Saudi Arabia doesn’t seem like a fun country to party with. Just weeks after a Saudi woman was arrested for wearing a mini skirt, a Saudi singer named Abdallah Al Shaharani, was arrested on Tuesday after he dabbed during a musical contest he was participating in over the weekend, Okaz newspaper reported.

The country’s anti-drug authority considers the dance move a reference to weed and other drugs, and certainly does not fuck around with criminal offenders. Criminal law punishments in Saudi Arabia include public beheading, hanging, stoning, amputation and lashing, none of which sound like a fun time.

Prior to his arrest, Al Shaharani tweeted to his 62,000 followers an apology to his government.

Can’t even read Arabic, bro? Pfft.

“I apologize to our respected government and to my audience for unintentionally and spontaneously making the dance move at Taif festival. Please accept my apology…”

Best of luck to Al Shaharani overcoming this mess.

The anti-drug people gave him a $50 savings bond for his brave contribution to crime-fighting, and upon the bond’s maturity 10 years later, he used it to buy his very first bag of marijuana.
