Pop star and actress Selena Gomez will be released her new single on Friday, titled “Single Soon”.

In an effort to get fans hyped for the song’s release, Gomez took to Instagram to share a reel of herself quoting a line from Sex in the City as a brief teaser for the track.

Gomez first announced the release on “Single Soon” last week with the following message to her followers — with over 427 million followers on Instagram, Gomez is the fourth-most followed account in the world and the most-followed woman in the world on the platform:

“Since I’m not quite done with SG3, I wanted to put out a fun little song I wrote a while back that’s perfect for the end of summer. SINGLE SOON. August 25th.”

Gomez hasn’t only been teasing the song itself, though, as she’s also shared some photos from what’s likely the music video for “Single Soon”.

“Single Soon” is set to be the first song off of Gomez’s new album, which so far she’s only referred to as SG3. Gomez’s last album came in 2020 with the release of Rare. Prior to that, she dropped Revival in 2015 and Stars Dance in 2013.

In addition to working on her latest studio album, Gomez also had a starring role in one of the biggest shows of the year as she’s featured in the third season of Hulu’s hit series Only Murders in the Building alongside Steve Martin, Martin Short, Meryl Streep, and Paul Rudd.

Next year, presumably following the release of her still-untitled new album, Gomez is set to star alongside Guardians of the Galaxy alum Zoe Saldana in Jacques Audiard’s comedy musical Emilia Perez, which hits theaters next year.
