Shane Gillis' ex-girlfriend has joined the discourse about his SNL jokes
Shane Gillis is at the center of controversy again following the backlash to a joke he made about how women at the gym dress. His ex-girlfriend Grace Brassel has used the moment to air out the former couple’s dirty laundry.
In a video posted to her Instagram account, where she has over 124,000 followers, Shane Gillis’ ex-girlfriend Grace Brassel shared what she described as a personal video diary that included clips of herself crying during the relationship and later footage of her feeling happier.

Brassel claims to have “survived” a relationship with Gillis that was on “level hard mode.” She did not get into specifics about what those difficulties were, however.
“Last year I was in a relationship that fully stripped me of who I am. I’ve been so terrified to even talk about what I went through, especially after relentless bullying from his fanbase (for no reason),” Brassel wrote in the caption of the post.
“I want to share this to let women know IT GETS BETTER!! And you can do it! I had it on level hard mode, and I survived! And I’ve never been happier.”
During his third Saturday Night Live hosting stint over the weekend, Gillis — after joking about his weight loss — made remarks about women’s gym clothing by saying they dress like “whores” now, and complained about showing up in the background of their TikToks.
Brassel responded to that on Instagram, too, as she posted a second video of herself at the gym with the caption “Full body workout for hoes.”
Gillis will next be seen making his feature film debut in the Prime Video movie Madden, which stars Nicolas Cage as the legendary NFL head coach and Christian Bale as late Raiders owner Al Davis. The film will debut on Prime Video on November 11 after previously being slated for a theatrical release.
