‘Simpsons’ Superfan Sets World Record With 203 Character Tattoos And Spent A Ton Of D’OH

Everyone claims to be a “super fan” for a movie, book, TV series, or even celebrity.

Michael Baxter from Bacchus Marsh in Australia might the biggest fan of “The Simpsons” ever.

Sure, more people might be knowledgable about the show or own more toys, but no one has spent more money tattooing the Simpsons characters on their body.

“Some people choose to hang their artwork on the wall, I chose to put mine on my body,” Baxter said. “As we know, ‘The Simpsons’ has been around for 30 years, and I’m an avid fan of the show, and I thought ‘what better thing to have on your body than ‘The Simpsons’?'”

The amazing part of Baxter’s tattoo tale is that it took 130 hours to complete, done in 10-hour sessions. Each session was about a month apart meaning it took more than a year for the entire piece to be completely finished.

Baxter said one of the difficult parts of getting the tattoo done was finding the right artist.  Eventually, Baxter settled on Jade Baxter Smith, a tattoo artist from Twisted By Design, who was the right person.

The pair worked together to come up with the final artwork.

Baxter estimated the cost to be between $12,000-$13,000 AUD which is just under $9,000 US.

Baxter was awarded the Guinness World Record for “most tattoos of characters from a single animated series but said he’s not done getting Simpsons characters inked onto his body. His ultimate goal is to get every single character from the show, including guest stars, inked onto his body.
