Snoop Dogg Stuns The World With Announcement That He’s Stopping Smoking

There is perhaps no person on earth more synonymous with smoking, particularly smoking weed, than legendary rapper Snoop Dogg.

But that is not longer.

The 52-year-old shocked fans on Thursday afternoon when he announced on Twitter that he was quitting smoking.

“After much consideration & conversation with my family, I’ve decided to give up smoke. Please respect my privacy at this time,” he said in a statement.

The first reaction of fans was, of course, disbelief.

“Twitter is a great place because all the blue checks think he’s doing this for his health and not because he’s about to launch a line of edibles,” wrote Twitter user @twoeightnine.

“What Super Bowl commercial is this leading to,” @ProducerJosh said.

But there were some people who took the rap icon at his word.

“No matter how long it takes, one thing you’ll realize in the end is that smoking is not good for your health. If you wish to live long, this is your sign to quit too,” @_AsiwajuLerry tweeted.

While @darth_law said “all jokes aside it’s pretty impressive for a guy like snoop, who has obviously built a world-famous image largely around weed, even pursuing sobriety. Good for him.”

Consider us on the skeptical side of things until further notice.

But should it turn out to be genuine, it’s an absolutely astonishing turn of events.
