Sony Is Getting Obliterated For A Spider-Man Tweet They Made Just Hours Before Pulling Him From The MCU

Sony Under Fire For Recent Tweet About Spider-Man Far From Home

Marvel Studios

In case you hadn’t noticed, people are very upset by the news that, as of right now, Spider-Man will no longer be appearing in or have any ties whatsoever to the Marvel Cinematic Universe — even thought Spider-Man: Far From Home basically was used as the springboard for Phase 4 of the MCU.

The fallout from this news has seen Marvel actors like Ryan Reynolds and Jeremy Renner issue their takes on the matter, a “Storm Sony” event has been created on Facebook, numerous petitions have been launched, and boycotts of future Sony films and even the PS4 are being planned.

So, yeah, Marvel fans are pretty ticked off.

This anger is no more evident than it is in the comments section of a tweet that Sony sent out on Tuesday — the same day they announced they were breaking up with Marvel Studios.

“See The Extended Cut of #SpiderManFarFromHome featuring a Never-Before-Seen Action Sequence, starting August 29. Experience @SpiderManMovie on the big screen one more time before it leaves theaters!” Sony wrote, asking fans to add to their already personal-record haul of $1.1 billion in box office receipts to see 3.1% more movie (four minutes).

To say Sony is in the midst of getting ratio’d for this money-grubbing tweet would be a Hulk-sized understatement.

So, what’s the over/under on number of days before Sony and Disney agree to a new deal to keep Peter Parker in the MCU?
