Steve Lemme From Broken Lizard Shared A Great Story About The Perils Of Ego And Language Barriers

Steve Lemme and his Broken Lizard partner Kevin Heffernan recently joined the ‘Hawk vs Wolf’ podcast with Tony Hawk and Jason Ellis. It is a podcast that has developed a pretty avid audience due in no small part to Tony Hawk’s ability to draw out incredible stories from the guests.

Steve Lemme (Mac on Super Troopers) was born and raised in NYC and went to the prestigious Dalton School on the Upper East Side ($54K tuition!!!) before attending the also prestigious Fountain Valley School in Colorado and then Colgate University where he’d eventually join Charred Goosebeak which led to Broken Lizard. Steve Lemme’s father had a very different upbringing.

Lemme’s dad is originally from Argentina and Puerto Rico and thus is a very proud Spanish speaker who learned English as his second language. Steve Lemme told a story about how this got his dad into trouble at brunch when his dad was trying to flex his English-speaking skills in front of his Steve’s mom.

Sometimes you just have to let people make their own mistakes. I’ve learned more about this in recent years than at any other point in my life. Sometimes the only way certain individuals will learn is through trial and error.

The full Hawk vs Wolf episode is available to stream on YouTube. If you’ve got an hour, it’s worth the watch:

Their latest project, Tacoma FD, is through its 4th season on TruTV. Fans of their past work have very much enjoyed this show about how firefighters battle boredom.
