Netflix has finally released the teaser trailer for the long-delayed fourth season of Stranger Things, which was originally supposed to debut last Fall had it not been for the pandemic.

While the trailer — which features Matthew Modine’s villainous Martin Brenner — doesn’t reveal much about the plot of Stranger Things 4, the teaser is the first piece of footage from the upcoming season that fans have gotten to see since Netflix dropped the “From Russia With Love” teaser all the way back in February 2020. It’s also unclear if this teaser is a flashback to Eleven’s early years or if it’s a scene from present day.

Stranger Things 4 will see the entirety of the main cast return as Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, and Maya Hawke are all set to feature in the upcoming season. Supporting characters played by Priah Ferguson, Cara Buono, Brett Gelman, and Matthew Modine are also set to return.

At this time, while Stranger Things 4 does not have an official release date, a Fall 2021 release seems likely.
