Super Bowl LVIII was not only announced by Jim Nantz and Tony Romo on CBS. Noah Eagle, Nate Burleson, SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick Star were also on the call for Nickelodeon.
The first-ever Super Bowl broadcast on a non-major network began with a rousing rendition of the smash hit ‘Sweet Victory,’ performed by Squidward’s band, and never slowed down from there.
Paramount did an awesome job of using augmented reality to broadcast the game live from Bikini Bottom. Their broadcast booth was right next door to Taylor Swift and the Kelce suite.
The set looked awesome!
All of the stars were out for the Big Game. Among those in attendance were Taylor Fish, Snoop Fishy Dogfish, Jason Kelpe, Shrimpothée Chalamet, LePrawn James, Fin Diesel, Billie Eelish, Herring Styles and Olivia Codrigo.
As was Pirihanna.
Dua Flipa and Megan Thee Sturgeon were also in the crowd!
Although the broadcast was mostly directed toward children, Eagle, Burleson, SquarePants and Star worked in a few subtle references that were targeted toward adults — and college football sickos. At one point, Eagle literally explained Iowa football to his aquatic counterparts during a punt.

The funniest moment of the Super Bowl flew mostly under the radar.
Leonardo DiCaprio was one of the many stars at the actual game at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. When Nickelodeon cut to him in the crowd, SquarePants made a savage joke about his history of dating younger women.

DiCaprio’s youngest girlfriend, supermodel Gisele Bündchen, was 18 when they started dating in 1999. He was 24 at the time, which marked the closest age gap of all of his relationships.

SpongeBob SquarePants took the opportunity to crack a joke at DiCaprio’s expense. It totally landed. Even Eagle and Burleson, a pair of pros pros, could not contain their laughter.
Nickelodeon absolutely nailed its broadcast of Super Bowl LVIII. The network had aired a few NFL games in the past, but it really took things to the next level for the championship!
