Rapper Swae Lee of Hip-Hop duo Rae Sremmurd was involved in a backstage fight with Coachella security prior to his performance, leaked footage has revealed.

According to TMZ, just before Swae Lee was set to take the stage at Coachella with Slim Jxmmi, the rapper and his entourage got into “an all-out royal rumble” with security.

Video of the brawl appears to have leaked to TMZ and while it doesn’t live up to ‘Royal Rumble’ hype, it is a borderline miracle that Swae Lee got on stage shortly after.

It is difficult to tell from the video, but Swae Lee’s infant child was right there when the brawl broke out. TMZ writes that someone in Lee’s entourage got ‘pummeled’ after security ‘swarmed in like piranhas.’ All while his baby was nearby in a car seat.

A representative for Swae Lee released a statement to TMZ, telling them:

As Swae Lee attempted to enter the festival with his newborn son and working crew, overzealous security guards confronted them. As 1/2 of Rae Sremmurd, he was due to perform on Coachella’s Outdoor Theatre stage at 5:55 PM. Security claimed not to recognize the talent and then aggressively initiated contact as they attempted to make their way to the stage.

The security guards, which we presume are independent contractors, are seen clearly being the aggressors and then throwing gang signs at end of the video in a celebration.

It’s discomforting to imagine what might’ve happened if Swae Lee didn’t have his own security on hand. It is also unclear what kicked off the brawl between his entourage and Coachella security, and if there were any repercussions for the incident on either side.

Swae Lee aka Kid the Great aka Kid Krunk didn’t mention the incident at all on Twitter, only saying:

He is now off to Stockholm, Sweden for a European tour with Post Malone:

Rae Sremmurd just released a new album. All of the tracks can be streamed on their YouTube channel.
