Back in October, Sony Pictures released the first trailer for its upcoming rom-com film Anyone But You, which features the knockout but still unproven (as movie stars) duo of Glen Powell and Sydney Sweeney.

The marketing for the film certainly hasn’t been shy about its assets, as tons of the teasers that have been released have largely been of Powell and Sweeney (in particular) standing next to each other looking like 10s, like in this latest photo that was shared by Fandango.

Here is the official synopsis for Anyone But You, which is directed by Easy A and Friends with Benefits filmmaker Will Gluck, via Sony Pictures:

In the edgy comedy Anyone But You, Bea (Sydney Sweeney) and Ben (Glen Powell) look like the perfect couple, but after an amazing first date something happens that turns their fiery hot attraction ice cold – until they find themselves unexpectedly thrust together at a destination wedding in Australia. So they do what any two mature adults would do: pretend to be a couple.

It’s been a busy year for the 25-year-old up-and-coming Sweeney, as she just signed on to star in Ron Howard’s new film Eden alongside Ana de Armas, Vanessa Kirby, Jude Law, and Daniel Bruhl. She also featured in the music video for the Rolling Stones’ single “Angry”.

2023 has also seen Sweeney star in films such as Americana and the well-received drama Reality. In February, she’ll be starring alongside Dakota Johnson as Julia Carpenter/Spider-Woman in Sony’s Madame Web.

Sweeney’s career has been on a rapid rise in recent years thanks to her performances in the trio of HBO series Sharp Objects, Euphoria, and The White Lotus, the Hulu series The Handmaid’s Tale, and films such as Once Upon A Time In Hollywood and Under the Silver Lake.

In addition to her upcoming parts in Madame Web and Eden, Sweeney is also attached to star in Immaculate, Echo Valley, and a remake of Barbarella.

Powell has also been on quite the come-up in recent years thanks to his roles in Top Gun: Maverick, Devotion, Hidden Figures, and Everybody Wants Some. Alongside Anyone But You, Powell has also booked parts in Richard Linklater’s Hit Man and Twisters, the sequel to Twister.
