Sydney Sweeney’s Revealing Oscars Afterparty Outfit Earns Her Marilyn Monroe Comparisons

There are few actors or actresses in Hollywood that are on a rise as meteoric as Sydney Sweeney, who has gone from being a promising actress to a household name/cultural sex symbol in just a couple of years.

Thanks to her roles in projects such as Euphoria, The White Lotus, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Reality, and Anyone But You, the 26-year-old is now not only one of the most talked about talents in entertainment but is also earning comparisons to Marilyn Monroe.

After getting a glimpse of the outfit she wore to Vanity Fair‘s famed Academy Awards afterparty, multiple outlets, such as E! News, Barstool Sports, and The Daily Mail, specifically name-checked Monroe, while Vanity Fair said Sweeney echoed “old Hollywood glamour” in the below video.

Sweeney, who recently went viral for her stint as the host of Saturday Night Live, will next be seen in the Italy-set horror-thriller Immaculate, which will be released in movie theaters on Friday, March 22. Sweeney, who also produced the project, stars alongside Álvaro Morte, Benedetta Porcaroli, Dora Romano, Giorgio Colangeli, and Simona Tabasco.

It’s certainly lucky that Sweeney has a new movie coming out so soon, as it’ll help wash away the bad taste left by Madame Web, which hit theaters in February and has already become a subject of ridicule for its stars, Sweeney and Dakota Johnson in particular.

In addition to Immaculate, Sweeney has a remake of Barbarella in the works at Sony Pictures and the third season of Euphoria at HBO, which is expected to release in 2025. Other future projects include the films Echo Valley, Eden, and potentially a sequel to Anyone But You.
