Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney is on the cover of the new issue of Variety and the pictures and videos from the photoshoot are sure to break the internet.
In the extensive sit-down interview, it’s also revealed that Sweeney will be playing Julia Carpenter/Spider-Woman in the film Madame Web, which releases next year.

“Sometimes, I love this crazy run I’m on, because I fall in love with so many characters and I want to do them all. And I love what I do. And then sometimes I’m like, ‘OK, maybe I should do one to two projects a year so I can give myself time at home with my family,'” Sweeney says in the interview.
In addition to the tidbit about playing Spider-Woman, it was also confirmed that Sweeney — who was most recently seen putting forth a widely-acclaimed dramatic performance in the Max original film Reality — is attached to a remake of Barbarella.
Sweeney got her big break playing Cassie Howard on the hit HBO series Euphoria, which first premiered in 2019.
The 25-year-old actress has also appeared in shows such as The Handmaid’s Tale, Sharp Objects, and the first season of The White Lotus, and films such as Under the Silver Lake, Nocturne, The Voyeurs, Night Teeth, and Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
Madame Web and Barbarella aren’t the only future projects that Sweeney is currently attached to, as she’s also set to star in the must-publicized rom-com Anywhere But You alongside Glen Powell later this year, the drama Echo Valley alongside Oscar winner Julianne Moore, and the horror film Immaculate.
There’s also the eventual third season of Euphora, which has already been ordered by HBO and is expected to release either next year or in 2025.
