Editor’s Note: this article contains MAJOR SPOILERS for the season two finale of the HBO series The White Lotus
After being the only main character from season one to make her way to Italy for season two, Jennifer Coolidge’s Tanya McQuoid — a role for which she won an Emmy Award — met her bitter demise in the season two finale.
Tanya’s death, while ultimately accidental, came as a result of a group of “high end gays” — one of which was apparently in love with her husband Greg — plotting to murder her while out at sea.
In a desperate attempt to save her life, Tanya hilariously tried to plead with the ship’s captain for help by saying that “These gays are trying to murder me.” Unfortunately for Tanya, while the captain didn’t seem to understand her, he confirmed that he, too, was gay.
Because we live in the age of social media, Tanya’s viral rant was almost immediately remixed into a wildly catchy house song on TikTok, where it’s already racked up over 48,000 likes.

Lucky for fans of The White Lotus, the series has already been renewed for a third season. While nothing has been confirmed, series creator Mike White said following the season two finale that he was considering exploring religion in season three, as season one and two focused on money and sex, respectively.
Given that some fans and critics believe that season two is actually superior to the Emmy-winning first season, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the series clean up during next year’s awards season, too.
All six episodes of The White Lotus season one and all seven episodes of season two are currently streaming on HBO Max.
