Taylor Swift got a restraining order against an ex-convict who she says is stalking her. The singer claims the man keeps showing up at her house in Los Angeles and making all sorts of wild claims. One of those claims, she says, is that she is the mother of his child.
The man allegedly making the claims, 45-year-old Brian Jason Wagner from Colorado, must now stay at least 100 yards away from Taylor Swift and her house. Swift claims he has shown up uninvited multiple times at her residence since July 2024, including on consecutive days this past May, according to TMZ.
“During each of these visits, I am informed that Mr. Wagner made various statements about living at my property (not true), being in a relationship with me (not true), believing I am the mother of his son (not true), and needing to see me in person, all of which are untrue and disconnected from reality,” Billboard reports Taylor Swift stated in her restraining order request.
Swift’s security team also reportedly ran a background check on her alleged stalker and discovered that Wagner had a criminal record and had sent “lengthy communications” while incarcerated in which he talked about having a romantic relationship with the pop star.
As if that wasn’t strange enough, Taylor Swift also claimed that Brian Jason Wagner attempted to steal her mail and “lied to the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV)” to obtain a California driver’s license with her home address in Los Angeles as his place of residence.
“I do not share publicly where I reside and have never shared my address or the location of my Los Angeles residence with Mr. Wagner,” Swift told the court in her filing. “Therefore, the fact that Mr. Wagner has determined where I reside and visited the property several times, refusing to leave and claiming to need access, makes me fear for my safety and the safety of my family. The fact that both of these recent visits and Mr. Wagner’s inappropriate and threatening communications to my staff about me have escalated in recent weeks creates a fear of imminent harm.”
Swift’s temporary restraining order against Wagner will expire on June 30. The judge will then determine if a permanent restraining order should be issued.
