A man got off work early and decided to get dinner at Texas Roadhouse. He couldn’t believe what he saw outside just minutes before the location opened.
In a video with over 16,000 views, TikToker @imnotmikal sits in his car in the Texas Roadhouse parking lot. He says the time is 3:55pm, just a few minutes before it opens at 4pm.
While he thought he would be the first through the doors, he couldn’t believe what he saw out front.
“Why I pull up…It’s a whole line,” he exclaims, showing a group of 10 to 15 people waiting by the doors for the restaurant to open.
“Do it really get that serious?” he questions.
Does Texas Roadhouse Always Have A Line?
Texas Roadhouse lovers on the r/unpopularopinion subreddit lamented that the steakhouse chain always seems packed.
“Texas Roadhouse is ALWAYS crowded at every hour on every day its open, which on the surface should be a good thing, until you realize it could be hours before you get seated EVEN if you call in advance,” one ranted on the thread.
According to the chain’s website, it doesn’t take reservations and only allows customers to join a waitlist online instead. This could contribute to long lines of customers hoping to snag a seat before others arrive.
Others on the r/TexasRoadhouse subreddit noted that many locations won’t seat a party until everyone arrives, which creates a gridlock in the wait area with customers waiting shoulder-to-shoulder for a seat.
A server in the comments ranted about workers‘ side of the long wait times.
“They will page complete parties that their table is ready even when it’s not cleared or worse,” they wrote. “Nevermind that they do wait an additional 10-20 minutes further increasing the wait time, and then going beyond their quoted time.”
‘A Line Every Day’
Other Texas Roadhouse workers in the comments of the viral TikTok said that customers always line up early at their location.
“Coming from someone who works at roadhouse I can confirm it’s that serious. We have a line every day when we open,” a worker shared.
Another said, “Mine opens at 3 and every single day there’s a line. I’m ok with it. I appreciate the business.”
“We open at 11. People be knocking at the door & in line at 10:30. Like whyyyy?” a third added.
Plus, some customers may arrive before opening to take advantage of Texas Roadhouse’s early bird specials.
“It’s early bird special. Get you some!” one suggested.
Other customers joked about the TikToker’s shock at the early line.
“Me when I’m mad I didn’t get there first,” a viewer remarked.
“My husband and I went at noon on a sunday busy as hell I don’t think there’s a time they’re never not busy,” a second said.
