The Internet Is Hilariously Trying To Name ‘The Batman’ Sequel: ‘2 Bat 2 Man’, ‘Batman Harder’

The Internet Is Hilarious Trying To Name 'The Batman' Sequel

Warner Bros.

  • The Batman has been a massive success both critically and commercially.
  • Given the money it’s made and the praise it’s received, a sequel to the film is inevitable.
  • Batman fans have taken to Twitter to hilariously name the sequel.

With The Batman racking up $134 million domestically and $248 million globally, and boasting a healthy 86% critics score and 89% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, Warner Bros. greenlighting a sequel to Matt Reeves’ crime epic is a lock.

Given that The Batman was the first film in a new franchise, naming the project was quite a simple task. Figuring out a title for the sequel, though, will prove to be a bit more complicated as the studio attempts to market it as widely as they can while maintaining Matt Reeves’ creative integrity.

Take The Dark Knight, for example: did you know that’s the first Batman movie to not have the word Batman in it? With that in mind, could the sequel to The Batman possibly be titled The Caped Crusader? Only time will tell.

In the meantime, though, we posed the question to social media — “What do you think the sequel to The Batman will be called? — and the responses have ranged from genuine (The Batman and the Catwoman is my guess, for example) to the goofy, such as 2 Bat 2 Man and Batman 2: Electric Bugaloo.
