The Chainsmokers crashed a frat party at ASU last weekend and it looked to be the party of the year… until it wasn’t… This Chainsmokers ASU appearance is proof that Arizona State is just a cut above the rest of the nation when it comes to partying.

Things got shut down FAST. The Chainsmokers shared a video of them performing at ASU that starts out with the caption ‘we crashed a frat in Arizona and…’ before jumping to a clip of the police shutting it down with a new caption that reads ‘this happened in after 13 minutes…’

The Chainsmokers said they “will happily pay the fine 🫱🏽‍🫲🏻” that police hit them with for performing without proper permitting. That shouldn’t be hard for them as they’re said to rake in around $46 million every year from performances and recording.

Despite The Chainsmokers’ frat show lasting just a quarter of an hour there were plenty of videos floating around from people who happened to be in the right place at the right time:

It is unclear how much the fine was. They said they paid the fine and then opted to play 45 seconds of a song and get their money’s worth.

Despite being a comically short appearance, The Chainsmokers were still able to treat ASU students to some of their hits including ‘Roses’ and ‘Closer.’ With such a short performance you have to think there was at least a handful of people who stopped by, saw what was happening, caught 5 minutes of the show before the cops showed up, and then tried to tell their roommates they just saw The Chainsmokers at ASU and nobody believed them.

In the comments on Instagram, someone joked “Shout out Alex’s bank account for saving the party 😂” and someone else asked how long it took them to set everything up just to get shut down in a matter of minutes…I’m not sure I want to know the answer to that. If you were part of the road crew you had to be FURIOUS that it only lasted a few short minutes. Someone else on Instagram turned the appearance into a music video.

I know it’s an LMFAO song and not The Chainsmokers but in that moment when the cops showed up they should have started spinning ‘Sorry For Party Rocking.’ It’s the only appropriate track at the moment in time.
