Food reviewer Adrianna (@adrianna_fever) has gone viral after sharing a grim discovery in her Cheesecake Factory Linda's Fudge Cake.
The reputation of Linda’s Fudge Cake at The Cheesecake Factory precedes it. But based on this one food reviewer’s experience, it might not be the reputation the company wants for its viral dessert.
TikTok food reviewer Adrianna (@adrianna_fever) begins the video sitting in the car, showing viewers the large slice of Linda’s Fudge Cake she just bought. Initially, the TikToker seems happy with the cake, taking two large bites. But then things start to go wrong.
She inspects the cake more closely and zooms in on the camera for viewers to inspect too. Suddenly, it looks like a small worm falls off the cake.
“Y’all there’s something in my cake,” she says. “Oh my gosh.”
She then inspects it some more and confirms it’s a worm, holding it to the camera.
She then repeats, “Oh my gosh,” and quips, “Well, that’s the end of this video.”
The footage then cuts to give viewers a closer look at the worm without cake around it. It is small and thin, resembling part of a very short noodle.
“The one time I wanna try something, there’s a worm in my cake,” she despairs.
As the camera pans over to the cake, she complains, “I really ate some of this.”
The video has amassed 1.5 million views.
‘They Owe You’
Commenters were disgusted.
Several of them pointed out that it likely wasn’t worms that she was eating, but maggots. And the comment section was full of screenshots from the video detailing other potential “maggots” the TikToker may have eaten.
“As I rewatch the video, I’m finding more,” one wrote. “I hope you sueeeee.”
“That is not [a] worm, it is maggots, a lot is in that cake you took a 2nd bite,” a second said. “That why it is important to eat with fork so you can check to make sure your foods is safe to eat.”
“And that my friends is how easy it is to catch a parasite,” a third commented. “The rest of the world deworms twice a year except here in America it’s non existent.”
While a fourth added, “I hope you called the corporate, plus you have proof of a video!! They owe you for that nastiness!!!!”
“I need $50K immediately,” another said, echoing the sentiment she should take legal recourse.
Did The Cheesecake Factory’s Linda’s Fudge Cake Shrink?
For Linda’s Fudge Cake enthusiasts, it has been disappointment after disappointment recently. Earlier in the month, TikTok user Abby (@abby_vet_journey) complained how, in her opinion, the Cheesecake Factory had cut corners on the iconic dessert. Not only did it appear smaller, it was also $3 more expensive.
“Cheesecake Factory, we need to talk,” she said in the viral video. Abby began by highlighting the price hike. “And I understand. That’s OK,” she said. “Things happen; inflation, things are more expensive—that’s not the problem.”
She then went on to claim that the cake was smaller.
“The problem is that if you’re going to charge me $3, don’t give me less cake,” she asserted.
Abby then added that she drove a whole 20 minutes especially for the dessert. “So you’re telling me I drove 20 minutes for this?” she asked.
And back in February, a couple went viral after finding a hair in their Cheesecake Factory cheesecake. Things then got worse when the replacement cake also had a hair in it, according to them. “Listen, we’re super chill and understanding,” the TikToker said. “But happening once? That’s fine. Twice? That’s crazy.”
Evidently, viral desserts aren’t always what they’re cracked up to be—and when it comes to potential worms, it is especially important to be vigilant.
