Showtime has release the first official trailer for The Curse, the upcoming TV series that stars Academy Award winning actress Emma Stone alongside Nathan Fielder, who was last seen in the The Rehearsal, and Benny Safdie, co-director of Uncut Gems who also recently featured in Oppenheimer.

The series was co-created and executive produced by Fielder and Safdie, and produced by A24, whose names in and of themselves speak to the type of tone The Curse will have.

Here is the official synopsis for The Curse, which premieres on Showtime on Friday, November 10:

The Curse is a genre-bending series that explores how an alleged curse disturbs the relationship of a newly married couple as they try to conceive a child while co-starring in their new home-improvement show.

The Curse is one of two major projects that Stone has due out in the coming months, as she also stars in Yorgos Lanthimos’ new film Poor Things.

Hitting movie theaters in the United States on December 8, reports indicate that Stone’s performance is going to have her contending for another Best Actress award at the Oscars.

The 34-year-old has previously been nominated twice for Best Supporting Actress — for Birdman in 2014 and Lanthimos’s The Favourite in 2018 — and won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her work in 2016’s La La Land.
