Miley Cyrus said at the end of May that she does not plan to ever tour again, but a residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas might be a different story! Especially if the money is there.

That might be the issue. James Dolan and MSG Entertainment might have backed themselves into a corner by paying U2 a small fortune to open the world’s most viral entertainment venue.

Bono and his Irish rock band are reportedly receiving around $10 million for their multi-month residency. Other artists, like Cyrus, are said to be asking for equivalent or greater compensation.

Despite the potential financial hurdles ahead, The Sphere has its sights set on the Pop Chameleon. According to The Sun, she could potentially make her anxiously-awaited debut to the stage as soon as 2024 after the Cyrus camp recently restarted talks about her debut Las Vegas residency.

One source told British Tabloid that “Miley has been in talks about making her Sin City debut for quite some time. She initially declined an offer from MSG but while she hates life on the road, she still loves being on stage.”

A residency at The Sphere gives her the best of both worlds.

Cyrus could get back to performing without having to travel. She could stay put in Las Vegas.

Another element to the discussions, of course, is money. The initial offer was apparently too low to get Cyrus back to performing on a consistent basis as opposed to one-off shows.

After getting a no on the first try, MSG reportedly circled back with a number that was much more enticing. Other artists have noticed the price tag for U2 and are “digging their heels in when it comes to their fees” so Sphere Entertainment must have presented a blank check.

There is no doubt that Miley Cyrus at the Sphere would rock!

Other possible successors to U2 include Beyonce, Harry Styles, Lady Gaga, Dead & Co. and Bon Jovi. Phish will be there for four nights in April.
