Netflix Announces ‘Tiger King’ After Show Hosted By Joel McHale That Will Feature Interviews With The Cast

You want more Tiger King content? You got it. In an effort to capitalize on this totally unpredictable Tiger King hype train, Netflix is rolling out a new after show that will be hosted by Joel McHale (The Soup, Community) and will feature interviews with many of the members of the cast.

Here’s the official announcement of the series, via Netflix:

The Tiger King and I — a Tiger King after show hosted by Joel McHale and featuring brand new interviews with John Reinke, Joshua Dial, John Finlay, Saff, Erik Cowie, Rick Kirkman, and Jeff and Lauren Lowe — will premiere April 12.

The first season of Tiger King, which consisted of seven episodes and racked up over 34 million viewers in its first ten days, is technically a bigger hit for Netflix than Stranger Things 2 was, as the sophomore season of the hit sci-fi series pulled in 31.2 million in its first ten days (the Joe Exotic-focused series clocks in just below last year’s Stranger Things 3, which pulled in 36.3 million in its first ten days on the streaming giants).

There’s been a rush to provide fans with supplementary Tiger King content ever since the docuseries exploded and became a pop-cultural phenomenon over the last few weeks. Not only is Netflix debuting an after show, but Discovery ID is releasing a “sequel series” that will investigate the disappearance of Carole Baskin’s husband Don Lewis.

The Tiger King and I — which legitimately seems to have been thrown together in the last few weeks — is set to premiere on Netflix this Sunday, April 12.
