Police in Flomaton, Alabama were seeking a suspected thief who made off with a stolen Alabama Crimson Tide sign in the trailer of a lawn mower, which also happened to be stolen.

Law enforcement authorities in Flomaton asked for the public’s assistance on Wednesday in identifying a person caught on camera riding off, slowly, on a stolen lawnmower and trailer containing several stolen items.

“Do you know them? Please Share!!! If you have any information on this subject’s identity, please notify us! Help us get our victim’s “stuff” back!!!” the Flomaton Police Department posted on Facebook along with a photo of the suspect.

“Little facts to provide to you: The Lawnmower she is riding = Reported Stolen from a residence. The trailer she is pulling = Reported Stolen from a residence. The items in the trailer = Reported Stolen from a residence. The Alabama A = Represents the Chief’s Favorite Football Team, but is also stolen. The person driving the lawnmower = Identity Needed.”

The Flomaton Police Department also wrote in the comments, “She appears to be wearing possible apple bottom jeans, looks like slides with no fur. The whole Town of Flomaton is looking for heeerr.”

Commenters, some of which tried to be helpful, also couldn’t help but make jokes about the photo and the crime.

“What is important is that she’s wearing her mask. Outside. Alone. Thanks for protecting my grandma!” one person wrote.

“Parole Tide!” commented another.

“World’s slowest crime wave,” someone else joked.

“Can’t be to hard to find, it’s not like that mower has the range of a normal vehicle, she can’t have driven it far,” another reader astutely pointed out.

The mysterious lawn mower bandit has captivated the Flomaton, Alabama area

In a follow-up Facebook post, the Flomaton Police Department wrote, “The lawnmower case is winding down! We need your help identifying this lady. Her name is Donna, but we can’t find her last name in our databases. If you have information in regards to her name, please contact us.”

The most recent update from the FPD reveals that case has been solved.

“We have now charged nine individuals with their involvement pertaining to burglaries in the past two weeks,” Chief Charles Thompson wrote on Facebook. “Burglaries are not very common in our Town, with all of these cases being reported and solved in just the past weeks. I stress to our citizens; Security Cameras are a must in today’s time. I strongly recommend every home and business have cameras because pertaining to the most recent cases, subjects were able to be identified swiftly. When a Burglary is reported, we will use every resource at our disposal to have the case solved. Individuals who steal, take so much from a person when conducting these crimes. These cases affect innocent people that work hard for what they have, and I’ve seen it personally destroy a person’s emotions. That is what makes this job hard the most, but being able to see justice begin its process for our victims is what my Officers and I enjoy the most.”

Turns out that the thief did, in fact, dive the stolen lawn mower pretty far.
