Given our current global situation, movie streaming — and boredom — might be at an all-time high. And when those two ingredients mix, you create the current argument unfolding online: which Marvel Cinematic Universe movie is the worst, Iron Man 2 or Thor: The Dark World.
And that’s where the ‘idiots’ part of the title of this article comes in, as only idiots would consider anything but Thor 2 as the MCU’s worst film. The Dark World is *far and away* the worst of the 23 Marvel movies thus far. It literally took me three watches to get through the whole thing because I fell asleep the first two times.
Not only is Iron Man 3 miles better than Thor 2, but it’s also better than Iron Man 2. As one of the tweets below mentions, Iron Man 2 vs. Thor 2 would make for a far more legitimate debate.

Not sure why Iron Man 3 has popped back up into the conversation but my take is/always will be that it’s a decent MCU flick with a terrible mood-ruining twist. pic.twitter.com/WlrMF73UPS

Isn't the argument Thor 2 vs. Iron Man 2? Where did 3 come from?
This is rhetorical. I don't actually want replies.

NOW THAT I KNOW WHY THOR 2 AND IRON MAN 3 ARE TRENDING I THOUGHT WE ALREADY AGREED AS A FAMILY THAT INCREDIBLE HULK WAS THE WORSE MARVEL FILM? THIS DEBATE HAS BEEN OVER FOR YEARS pic.twitter.com/VdlhEkEjth

I didn't weigh in on the Iron Man 3/Thor 2 debate because
a) Thor 2 is clearly worse and
b) I've been too busy staring at this actual 100% real excerpt from the OFFICIAL #RiseofSkywalker novelization pic.twitter.com/L2xxDNaYLh— Nando (@NandovMovies) March 23, 2020

MFW people actually think Thor 2 is better than Iron Man 3. pic.twitter.com/wwzikGdC2P

#MCURankings Thor 2, Iron Man 3, The Incredible Hulk, Captain Marvel. Everyone has Age of Ultron too high.

Rotten Tomatoes agrees, as Thor: The Dark World is the lowest rated of the MCU films thus as, as its 66% critics score ranks just below The Incredible Hulk at 67%. The bottom five is rounded out by Iron Man 3 at 73%, Avengers: Age of Ultron at 75%, and Thor at 77%.
Thor has had a hell of a bounce back, though, as Thor: Ragnarok is one of the best films in the franchise, leading to the God of Thunder becoming the first MCU character to get a four solo film. That solo film — Thor: Love and Thunder — is scheduled to hit theaters on November 5, 2021.
