There was once a time when many travelers actually looked forward to flying on an airplane, but that’s not really the case in a day and age where the novelty has worn off for most people who dread having to deal with the various issues you can fall victim to over the course of the trip.

After all, we’re talking about an ordeal that typically involves showing up at the airport hours before you’re scheduled to embark in order to deal with getting through the security screening that grants you the opportunity to buy some overpriced food and drinks before earning the right to battle over an armrest with the passenger(s) you’re crammed next to.

Of course, that all hinges on the assumption that your plane is going to leave on time—which is far from a sure thing thanks to the many airlines that have been forced to grapple with the delays that have gotten noticeably worse in recent years.

Unfortunately, one man was unable to avoid that fate while attempting to take what should’ve been a fairly short flight from Oklahoma City to Charlotte on Sunday—one that didn’t actually take off from Will Rogers Airport until shortly after midnight on Monday morning thanks to an 18-hour delay.

The flyer in question posted a video on TikTok where he said the flight—which was scheduled to leave at around 6:15 A.M. on Sunday—was ultimately pushed into the next day.

While he didn’t make any alternative travel plans, the same couldn’t be said for literally everyone else who was originally booked, as he had an entire Airbus A321 to himself by the time he boarded.

While he acknowledged the flight crew seemed less than thrilled about having to make the trip considering the circumstances, it does seem like everyone was able to make the best out of an incredibly unique situation.

It might not be as cool as getting an entire cruise ship to yourself, but I’d still take it.
