A library in Toledo, Ohio was temporarily shut down after an angry patron threw a box of cockroaches at the librarian on duty. The altercation was captured on the library‘s security camera footage.

According to reports, the patron was asked to leave the Toledo Lucas County Public Library after cockroaches were witnessed crawling out of a box they were carrying. It was at that point the visitor threw the cockroach-filled box at the librarian in Toledo, Ohio which prompted the facility to shut down for cleaning.

Library Shut Down After Visitor Throws Box Full Of Cockroaches At Librarian

This occurred at the Kent Branch of the Toledo Library earlier this week in Ohio. Following the incident, the library was closed so the cockroaches could be exterminated and a cleaning could take place and an announcement was made on Facebook though they did not inform the public that cockroaches had been thrown at a librarian.

It was only later after security camera footage (below) emerged showing the deranged patron throwing the box of cockroaches that the full story came to light. Here is that moment caught on camera. You can see an argument taking place, back and forth, between the patron and the librarian before the box is thrown:

Many questions loom following the incident….

How many cockroaches were released from the box? … What was said between them that set the person off? … and most importantly, who on earth carries around a box full of live cockroaches and then brings said box into a public library?!

According to a report from ABC7, it is unclear whether any charges were filed following what is being described as a “cockroach attack.” And that is not to be confused with an attack on cockroaches, this is very clearly an attack with cockroaches.

It remains to be seen if we will receive answers to the lingering questions. At this point, it is safe to assume the police are hot on the trail of the antagonist.
