Hollywood superstar Tom Holland opened up about his disdain for the entertainment industry and his desire to lead a normal life, in an interview on Jay Shetty’s “On Purpose” podcast.
The beloved actor, known for his portrayal of Spider-Man, expressed his concerns and shared his strategies for maintaining a sense of balance amidst the glitz and glamour of Hollywood.
While acknowledging his love for the craft of filmmaking, Holland made it clear that he does not enjoy the Hollywood scene.
Holland admitted feeling intimidated by the business, saying, “It is not for me. The business really scares me.” Despite being an integral part of the industry, he emphasized the importance of distancing himself from it to preserve his sanity and pursue a more fulfilling existence.

Holland disclosed his conscious effort to avoid succumbing to the “Hollywood hype” that often ensnares celebrities. Instead, he prioritizes the things that genuinely bring him happiness, such as his family, friends, carpentry, golf, and his mother’s charity.
By focusing on these aspects of his life, he hopes to retain his sense of self and shield himself from the pitfalls that have ensnared many others.
The actor’s commitment to maintaining a private life also extends to his relationship with fellow Hollywood star Zendaya. The pair, who have been romantically linked since 2016, guard their personal lives fiercely and seldom share details with the public.
Holland explained that he views his relationship as sacred and believes that preserving its privacy is crucial for their well-being as a couple.
This desire for privacy was highlighted in 2021 when paparazzi captured photographs of Holland and Zendaya kissing in a car, seemingly confirming their romantic involvement.
Reflecting on the incident, Holland lamented the loss of control over their privacy, noting that moments meant to be shared intimately between two people are now thrust into the public eye.
He emphasized his commitment to safeguarding his personal life, as he already shares so much of himself with the world through his acting career.
