I try and travel abroad anytime my bank account can handle it. I was just in Portugal two weeks and took a trip to Dublin back in December. Here in the U.S. a lot of people use Yelp for hotel, restaurant, and activity recommendations but the second you go abroad TripAdvisor is king.
What makes TripAdvisor the best travel review and recommendation service on the planet is all of the reviews are verified. They don’t get scammed. So if a hotel has a 5-star rating you know with 100% certainty that it’s going to be an incredible experience.
TripAdvisor just released their 2018 Travelers’ Choice Awards in a press release, lists of the Top 10 Hotels in the World and the Top 10 Hotels in the United States. So if you’re looking for some travel inspiration then look no further than this list because these hotels are going to blow your damn mind.
Here’s the TripAdvisor 2018 Travelers’ Choice list of Top 10 Hotels Worldwide (only 1 hotel from the U.S. made the list). And the list of the top 10 hotels in the United States is below.

Only one from the U.S. made the cut, The Nantucket Hotel & Resort with an average price of $530/night. So not exactly a budget-friendly option like the $101/night Hanoi La Siesta Hotel Trendy or the $128/night Viroth’s Hotel in Cambodia which was ranked #1 and proof that you don’t have to spend a fortune to stay at one of the best hotels in the world.
