President Biden Removes Trump’s Favorite Red Button From Oval Office Desk And, No, It Didn’t Control The Nukes

On his first day in the Oval Office, President Joe Biden signed several executive orders, which included strengthen protections for young immigrants, ending the travel ban from certain countries, and ending the construction of the border wall.

The new President did some interior design work as well, removing former-President Donald Trump‘s most used button – the little red knob that brought a Diet Coke to the president whenever he wanted.

Political commentator Tom Newton Dunn tweeted a photo of Biden at his new desk, signing the stacks of executive orders, and noticed the little red button was missing.

“President Biden has removed the Diet Coke button. When @ShippersUnbound and I interviewed Donald Trump in 2019, we became fascinated by what the little red button did. Eventually Trump pressed it, and a butler swiftly brought in a Diet Coke on a silver platter. It’s gone now,” wrote Dunn.

Other presidents have used this call button before Trump, most likely for various different reasons, but Trump specifically used the red button to get a beverage.

Trump showed off his button back in 2017 to reporters with the Associated Press and the Financial Times.

The AP reported at the time, “With the push of a red button placed on the Resolute Desk that presidents have used for decades, a White House butler soon arrived with a Coke for the president.”

“Everyone does get a little nervous when I press that button,” Trump told a Financial Times reporter.

Probably with good reason.
