As a kid, one of my favorite parts of the Christmas season was having an excuse to eat a piece of chocolate at 7 A.M. on a weekday courtesy of the advent calendar I eagerly opened up each morning before heading to school.

However, as someone who has had Oreos for breakfast multiple times over the course of the past month, that novelty tends to wear off when you reach a point in life where the only adult who can stop you from making questionable dietary decisions is you.

I still buy an advent calendar every year out of habit, and I have to say I’ve been pretty thrilled with a recent trend that’s taken the holiday tradition to the next level by the innovators standing on the shoulders of the first person to realize how to make eggnog even better: adding booze.

There are plenty of calendars on the market that allow you to sample a new wine, beer, or whiskey in the days leading up to Christmas, and now, Twisted Tea has decided to get in on the action to commemorate what’s been dubbed “The 12 Days of Twistmas.
