Jada Pinkett Smith Drops Bombshell: She And Will Smith Secretly Separated For 7 Years

Jada Pinkett Smith shared some shocking revelation about her husband Will Smith. Jada confesses that they’ve been living separate lives for a whopping seven years.

What’s even more shocking is that fans are only catching wind of this news now. Jada made it clear in an interview with Today that their separation has been ongoing since 2016.

So, why the hush-hush? Jada explained, “I think just not being ready yet, still trying to figure out between the two of us how to be in partnership and in regards to how do we present that to people. And we hadn’t figured that out.”

Jada also shared a bit of insight into what caused their relationship to go off the rails. “When it comes to why it fractured, that’s a lot of things,” the actress added. “I think by the time we got to 2016, we were just exhausted with trying. I think we were both stuck in our fantasy of what we thought the other person should be.”

Divorce was apparently on the table, but Jada ultimately decided against it.

“I made a promise that there will never be a reason for us to get a divorce,” she declared. “We will work through whatever, and I just haven’t been able to break that promise.”

And, believe it or not, Jada indicated they’re still in the process of navigating their relationship.

“We’re still figuring it out,” Jada told People, “We’ve been doing some really heavy-duty work together. We just got deep love for each other and we are going to figure out what that looks like for us.”

There’s been a lot of rumors about the Smiths over the years, including infidelity on Jada’s part, but this explains things a lot better to fans who were wondering what’s been going on.
