Competitive speed eater Leah Shutkever sets new burrito world record for fastest burrito ever eaten
Leah Shutkever is one of the most decorated speed eaters in the world of Competitive Eating. She has held 42 world records including everything from ‘most churros eaten in a minute’ to ‘fastest time to eat a burrito.’
She first set the burrito world record back in 2019 and broke her own record in 2022 with a time of 32.35 seconds. And to be clear, it is not just any burrito we are talking about. She eats a 1.35-pound (613g) burrito.
Leah Shutkever Sets Speed Eating Burrito World Record
Leah lost her burrito world record to fellow speed eater Miki Sudo who took down a 1.35-pounder in a time of 31.47 seconds but Leah just regained her world record with a blistering fast 30.75 seconds, nearly two seconds faster than the record she set back in 2022.
What’s most impressive here about Leah’s new speed eating world record is the technique. It is difficult to even see her swallow. To the naked eye, all we see is chewing. She’s operating on another level here and at some point we need to see her in a speed eating decathlon against BroBible’s dear friend Joey Chestnut.
But I’m getting off topic. Let’s check out Leah Shutkever’s new speed eating burrito world record:

If Leah’s name seems familiar it is likely because you have come across her videos on social media at some point. She has 666K subscribers on YouTube, 391K followers on Instagram where she regularly goes viral with videos like the one below, and 500K+ followers on TikTok. Leah’s everywhere.
As for how she balances speed eating with life, she told GWR “Fitness is my life and identity, it’s what I have always done, but competitive eating is my job, and I like to keep them both running equally in my life. I love going through life with people looking at me and having no idea what I do for a living.”
Leah added “I was an overweight kid, and very early on in my life I learnt a lot about nutrition and fitness, I was into sports and kept active. In terms of eating, it all boils down to calories in versus calories out, and everything in moderation.”
Outside of speed eating, she has a degree in Architecture. Truly a jack of all trades.
