Jordan (@jordytings) has gone viral after sharing what happened after a man rescinded his offer to buy her and her friends drinks.

One of the most classic ways of making a move is offering to buy someone’s drinks at the bar. However, when this man quickly rescinded his offer after finding out what drink she wanted, TikToker Jordan (@jordytings) was left amused.

Jordan is a prominent TikTok creator with 199,000 followers. Her niche is predominately lifestyle content.

The video, which has amassed 814,500 views, was filmed at a bar. Speaking directly to the camera, Jordan said, “This man at the bar sent our waitress over and basically was gonna buy us a drink and said, “I want to buy those girls drinks,'” she explained. According to the creator, the waitress then asked what she and her friends wanted. Showing a glass of beer to the camera, Jordan said she told the waitress they wanted that.

“And then she went back over to him, and then he said, “Never mind,”” she added, amused. “So, yeah.”

Accompanying the TikTok was on-screen text that read, “What it’s like to be single in 2026.” Somewhere along the way, it is clear that this man’s flirting technique had gone south. But did Jordan make a fatal flirting mistake she didn’t know about?

Was She Being Greedy?

Some commenters were puzzled.

“Isn’t beer like…..one of the cheapest alcoholic drinks you can get?” one asked. “Am I missing something?”

A second said, “Beer is cheaper than liquor, I thought you were being considerate I’m still trying to figure out the offense.”

Others argued the opposite was true and that the drink was too expensive.

“He said a drink not a pitcher,” a third said, while a fourth called her “greedy.”

Elsewhere, commenters considered whether it was a woman drinking beer that was the problem.

“One time I was at a bar and a guy walked up and wanted to buy me a drink and I told him I wanted a Coors Light and he said ‘never mind brother’ dapped me up and walked away,” a fifth shared.

While sixth recounted, “My father hated that I drink beer. He used to say ‘Ladies don’t drink beer.’ And I’d hold up my beer and say ‘This lady does!’ Also note I started drinking beer as a child when he’d want me to go get him a beer. I’d open and sample it before I gave it to him.”

Meanwhile, a seventh commenter quipped, “I would’ve ordered him a Cosmo,” while an eighth said, “I’ve dated a female who drank beer……never again lol.”

Is It A Turn-Off When A Woman Orders A Beer?

First of all, women should be able to drink whatever they want, no matter how “unladylike” it may seem. And when a similar question was asked on the r/AskMen subreddit, the answer was pretty consistent. Women drinking or ordering beer is absolutely not a “turn-off.”

“I can’t think off one rational reason why any dude would find it off-putting,” one Redditor wrote.

“You are free to drink or eat whatever you want,” a second added.  “But drinking too much of whatever you are drinking and becoming out of control is a turn off.”

Meanwhile, a third remarked that “people who say it’s a turn off are morons,” and a fourth asked, “WTF? Are we gatekeeping beer now?”

Multiple commenters also remarked that women drinking beer was actually a turn-on, with a fifth proclaiming, “I love women who do beer and banter.”

So, when a man orders a woman a drink at a bar, ordering a beer is arguably a litmus test of his misogyny. If you’re a woman in Jordan’s position, the best move is probably to order a beer to assert your dominance.
