The first trailer for Warner Bros’ upcoming Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory prequel, simply titled Wonka, has been released.

Directed by Paul King, the filmmaker behind the beloved Paddington movies, Wonka stars Timothee Chalamet in the titular role.

You can check out the official synopsis and trailer for Wonka, which will hit movie theaters across the United States on Friday, December 15, below.

Based on the extraordinary character at the center of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Roald Dahl’s most iconic children’s book and one of the best-selling children’s books of all time, Wonka tells the wondrous story of how the world’s greatest inventor, magician and chocolate-maker became the beloved Willy Wonka we know today.

Wonka is set to be Paul King’s first film outside of the Paddington franchise. He’s also currently attached to direct the Tom Holland-starring Fred Astaire biopic for Sony.

In addition to Chalamet in the lead role of Willy Wonka, Wonka also stars Calah Lane, Keegan-Michael Key, Paterson Joseph, Matt Lucas, Mathew Baynton, Sally Hawkins, Rowan Atkinson, Jim Carter, Olivia Colman, Natasha Rothwell, Rich Fulcher, Rakhee Thakrar, Tom Davis, and Kobna Holdbrook-Smith.

Wonka isn’t the only high-profile project that Chalamet is starring in this year as he’s also set to lead Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Two, which will hit theaters in November.

Alongside Chalamet, Dune: Part Two also stars Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Dave Bautista, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Stellan Skarsgård, Charlotte Rampling, Javier Bardem, Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, Léa Seydoux, and Christopher Walken. Check out the official trailer for that below.
